Supervisors Explore Airing Meetings
Sonora, CA — Tuolumne County is planning to eventually stream live video of the Board of Supervisors meetings on its website.
The Supervisors will include funding for the project in next year’s proposed budget. The vote yesterday was 5-0. The plan calls for the company Granicus to provide services that allow residents to watch meetings live. There would also be an archive section on the website for past meetings. The program would cost the county around $4,600 annually. Granicus already provides similar services for the Tuolumne Utilities District.
The video service is designed to create additional government transparency. Live audio of the Supervisors meeting is currently provided in the multimedia section of myMotherLode.com.
