Yosemite Valley, CA– One of Yosemite National Parks’ most popular lakes is getting improvements.
Tenaya Lake with its scenic qualities and proximity to Tioga Road, will receive additional ecological restoration, picnic area improvements, trailhead and parking improvements, comfort stations, and trails.
According to Park officials, problems associated with visitor use, visitor safety and resource impacts have been occurring for decades.
The National Park Service has determined that implementation of the Tenaya Lake Area Plan will not have a significant effect on the quality of the human environment, so an Environmental Impact Statement is not required.
Restoration of the East Beach area will begin this summer.
