Baby On Board

San Andreas, CA– The San Andreas CHP recently conducted a “Child Car Seat Safety Check” in conjunction with the San Andreas Library Fun Fair.

CHP Spokesperson Rebecca Myers says the weekend event attracted about a dozen motorists with child car safety seats.

“It turned out that of all the car seats that we checked, only one was in compliance, which is about the national average of 96% car seats being out of compliance,” said Myers. “We want all parents new, and those with toddlers to understand that when they have a car seat, they need to make sure it’s installed correctly.”

Myers says the public can also stop by any CHP office to a have a child car seat checked for safety compliance.
