Calcutta Makes Its Return

Jamestown, CA– Mother Lode Roundup festivities continue tomorrow as the Calcutta makes its return.

“It’s really a fun night,” said Dan Durnall, member of the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Posse. “We have an auction with our calf scramble participants. The teams are paraded up and down the corridor and local people, businessmen and everybody has a good time bidding and trying to win that team. It’s for a great cause.”

Twenty-five percent of the proceeds go to the annual Sheriff’s Posse scholarship program.

The Calcutta begins Thursday at 6pm at the Sheriff’s Posse Grounds in Jamestown. Admission is free.
