Dogs To Play At Railtown

Sponsored by:

This Sunday, May 1st, Golden Retrievers and other dogs will be playing at Railtown 1897 in Jamestown.

Mike Warzee, local area coordinator for Homeward Bound Golden Retriever Rescue, was Wednesday’s “Newsmaker of the Day”.

The event will take place from 11:00am-3:00pm at Railtown and is free for the public.

Homeward Bound Golden Retriever Rescue & Sanctuary, Inc. is a volunteer organization which rescues and heals displaced, abandoned, and homeless Golden Retrievers and Golden/Labrador mixes throughout Northern California, no matter their age or health.

Homeward Bound secures safe, loving, homes through a comprehensive adoption program and also provides sanctuary for Goldens who cannot be adopted.

Homeward Bound provides education on proper animal care and on the benefits of, and need for, rescue and sanctuary.

Each rescued Golden immediately receives a thorough veterinary exam. All of the Goldens are spayed or neutered before an adoption can occur and all vaccinations are brought up to date. Each Golden is tested for heartworm.

Homeward Bound maintains a sanctuary and adoption center in Elverta, CA (near Sacramento). This sanctuary serves as a “half-way house” for those Goldens awaiting adoption, and as a permanent home for those dogs whose health issues have rendered them unadoptable. They are welcome to live out their lives at the sanctuary in security and dignity, surrounded by love.

Homeward Bound is an all volunteer, non-profit organization. They exist solely on donations.

Come and enjoy a day of fun and help homeless Goldent Retrievers. Friendly well-behaved dogs are welcome to attend and play.

Pictures with Steam Train from 10:00am-11:00am. Lunch will served at noon. Raffels and silent auction at 1pm.

Cal Mike or Bonnie Warzee at 532-3220 for more info.

The “Newsmaker of the Day’ is heard each weekday morning on AM 1450 KVML at 6:47, 7:47 and 8:47am.
