Woods Creek Park’s $200K Facelift
Sonora, CA — Woods Creek Park in Sonora has received a $200,000 facelift.
Sheala Wilkenson, City of Sonora Events Planning Coordinator, will be Wednesday’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”.
The City of Sonora received state Proposition 40 funding to replace the existing playground equipment, update the picnic areas and improve ADA accessibility. Proposition 40 was approved back in 2002. The park, located on Woods Creek Drive near the Dragoon Gulch Trail, has been closed since mid-October for construction.
Rachelle Kellogg with the City of Sonora says that a ribbon cutting is scheduled for Thursday at 11am. Mayor Bill Canning will be cutting the ceremonial ribbon. Immediately after the event the park will be open to the public.
The “Newsmaker of the Day” is heard each weekday morning on AM 1450 KVML at 6:47, 7:47 and 8:47am.
