Supervisors Revisit Jamestown Quarry Project

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors this week will continue talks regarding plans for a rock quarry near Jamestown.

Last month, officials in Stanislaus County voiced concerns about the project they say could possibly have environmental impacts and increase the amount of rail traffic going through their cities.

The Cooperstown Quarry, a project already recommended for approval by the Tuolumne County Planning Commission, would be located on around 280 acres in the southwest corner of the county. The property is owned by Jack and Tricia Gardella.

Another item on board agenda will be a presentation by Comcast on the upgrade of cable television in Tuolumne County.

The Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors meet Tuesday in the board chambers at 9 am.
