Service Not Affected By Bus Fire
Tuolumne, CA — A fire on a Tuolumne County Transit bus this morning in Tuolumne has not affected bus service.
The 8:30 am fire on Buckhorn Mountain Road near Woodham Carne Road completely destroyed the county bus. No injuries were reported.
“At this point we’re right back on track,” said Tuolumne County Transportation Council Executive Director Darin Grossi. “Our manager was able to send up a bus immediately and get the one passenger we had on board, back on her way.”
The fire reportedly began in the engine compartment of the bus and is still under investigation.
“We don’t know the cause of the fire, but what we do know is that bus was scheduled to be phased out later this year. We’ve already ordered a new bus so it won’t cause any disruption to service whatsoever,” said Grossi.
