Gaines Wins District One Seat

Sacramento, CA — Republican Ted Gaines will be the next District One State Senator.
Gaines defeated Democratic Rancho Cordova Mayor Ken Cooley in a special election yesterday. Gaines will fill the seat of the late Senator Dave Cox. The Secretary of State’s Office reports that Gaines had 81,945 votes (63.2%) compared to Cooley’s 47,743 votes (36.8%) percent.
