Chinese Camp, CA — The name of a Bay Area man killed in a crash over the weekend near Chinese Camp has been released by the CHP.

He is identified as 49-year-old David Michael Tweedie of Fremont. The CHP says Tweedie was driving a 1961 Volkswagon eastbound on Highway 120 and attempted to turn north onto Shawmut Road. The vehicle went off the roadway and overturned several times. Tweedie was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. The CHP says his high rate of speed was a contributing factor to the crash.
