Calaveras County Chamber Sees Improvement
Calaveras Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, Diane Gray, was Friday’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”.
Despite what has been a difficult economy, the Chamber has seen improvement over the past year from its’ members.
According to Gray, there have been several indications that 2013 will be a better business year than 2012.
In addition to an improvement in revenues and spending, available office space is being looked at from a few potentially new and existing business owners and inquiries are being made about available space and locations throughout the county.
The Chamber of Commerce also took over the operations of the county’s Economic Development Company in 2012.
“We were really thrilled because our missions are similar, and our work has always overlapped,” says Gray. “It seemed like a really good idea to combine the two organizations.”
The Economic Development Corporation will operate out of the Chamber’s office in San Andreas.
Meanwhile, Gray anticipates being busy herself in the months ahead.
The Annual Dinner will take place on January 30th at Camp’s Restaurant in Angels Camp. This year’s speaker is Will Robbins. Robbins is a golfer, businessman and motivational speaker. Gray anticipates the audience will really enjoy Robbin’s message.
The 2013 Mother Lode Bridal Faire will take place on Sunday, March 10th at the Calaveras County Fairgrounds. Nearly fifty Vendors will be on hand will goods and services for every Bride, Groom and wedding planner. Entry into the show is free and the Wedding Fashion show will start at 1:00 pm.
Also the Calaveras Home & Garden Show will take place on April 27 & 28, 2013.
