Tuolumne City Christmas Parade Tonight
It may be the smallest Christmas parade in the Mother Lode. Regardless, residents of Tuolumne City don’t mind at all.
Cindy Wano, Tuolumne Park And Recreation District Events Coordinator, was Wednesday’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”
Every year, hundreds of residents and out-of-town visitors line the streets of downtown Tuolumne (around Westside Park) to watch their small town Christmas Parade.
It’s a chance for neighbors to come together in an often chilly but festive atmosphere, and cheer for several familiar faces.
“We have thirty entries so far”, said Wano, “and we’ll take new entries right up until the last minute. This year, horses and the Summerville High School band will also be a part of the parade.”
The Christmas Parade begins at 6 PM tonight.
The Christmas Craft Fair will also take place on Friday, beginning at 4 PM, inside of the Tuolumne City Memorial Hall.
If you are interested in entering either the Parade or the Craft Fair, call 928-1214.
The “Newsmaker of the Day” is heard each weekday morning on AM 1450 KVML at 6:47, 7:47 and 8:47am.
