Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne County Chamber of Commerce recognized two area lawmakers for all their hard work at its quarterly luncheon. The guests of honor were District 5 Board Supervisor Dick Pland and 25th District Assemblywoman Kristin Olsen.

Pland will retire at the end of the year and says, “The time does come and I’m really going to miss it. My whole career was working in the woods and then politically there’s always been a lot of action and I’ve always enjoyed it. The time has come so now I’ll have to figure out what’s next.”

Redistricting has Olsen moving to a new district. She says, “It is bittersweet because it’s one of the last times I’ll be up here for a while with redistricting and the lines changing. I now represent Stanislaus and San Joaquin Counties and have lost the Mother Lode. As I have said many times, I will remain a friend, a champion, and an advocate for the foothills and look forward to visiting just as a visitor.”

Nearly 50 people attended today’s luncheon.
