Cash Drive For Interfaith Continues
Tune into Star 92.7 and 93.5 KKBN this morning and help a great cause.
Interfaith Director Cathie Peacock was Friday’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”.
An on-air pledge drive continues on both Star 92.7 and 93.5 KKBN from 6-10am this morning. 100 percent of all donations will go to Interfaith Social Services to help local residents in need.
The goal is to raise over $35,000, as demand has never been higher. The Cash Drive began yesterday (Thursday).
The telephone number for Star 92.7 FM is (209) 533-9270. The phone number for KKBN 93.5 FM is (209) 532-9350.
On Saturday (tomorrow), residents and businesses can again join the cause and drop food and coat collections at Standard Park from 9am-noon. Santa will arrive at noon by helicopter courtesy of PHI Air Medical at 11am. Bring a camera as this is also a chance for kids to get a picture with Santa.
In 2011, the event for Interfaith raised nearly $30,000 in community cash donations, thousands of coats and 3,000 lbs. of food.
Peacock said that the agency was able to provide food and coats for close to nearly 1,000 families in Tuolumne County. Peacock said the food collected last year helped feed those in need for around four months. And the cash donations provided food and supplies for an additional six months.
The “Newsmaker of the Day” is heard each weekday morning on AM 1450 KVML at 6:47, 7:47 and 8:47am.
