ITSA Film Festival Offers Screenings And Workshops

Sponsored by:

Beginning tonight, the 2012 ITSA Film Festival will take place all weekend long at the historic Opera Hall and other locations in Sonora.

Hollywood actor and producer Brett Stimely was Friday’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”.

The third annual ITSA Film Festival begins with a Gala event at 6:30 with hors d’oeuvres by Black Oak Casino and wine by Hatcher Winery. There will be live music and short films and special events through 11pm.

On Saturday, Animations will kick off the day at 10am. Various workshops will then be held starting at 11am with screenwriters, actors, directors and film producers. The day will conclude with a “Reel Scary” film fest from 8:30 – 11:30pm.

Finally on Sunday, film shorts will begin at 11am. A look at music videos starts at 2pm and the Festival concludes with an Awards Ceremony beginning at 3pm.

Ray Bradbury’s Kaleidoscope, which Stimely produced and stars in, is winning awards right out of the gate and will be screened at the ITSA Festival.

Stimely can also be seen playing President John F Kennedy in both, Michael Bay’s “Transformers: Dark of the Moon,” and Zac Snyder’s “Watchmen,” for Paramount Pictures (Steven Spielberg, Exec. Producer) and Warner Bros. Pictures/Paramount Pictures, respectively.

Stimely may well be best known for playing Dr. Jay Garvin for years on “The Bold And The Beautiful” and has been seen in numerous television commercials. You’ve also probably heard his voice in several radio ads.
