Sonora, Ca — School and town spirit will be on display in downtown Angels Camp this afternoon for the annual homecoming parade and football game.

Bret Hart High School Principle, Michael Chimente, was Friday’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”.

“There´s no question that it is a united town, united community, and the school is part of the community,” says Chimente. “The Angels Camp Police are willing to shut down a state highway to have a parade.”

The parade is essentially made up of the entire student body and will include floats, classic cars, football players and the marching band.

Immediately following the parade, a pep rally with music and speeches will be given at Utica Park.

The parade is scheduled to begin at Bret Harte High School at 1:45pm.

The Bret Harte Bullfrogs will host the Summerville Bears with varsity kickoff scheduled for 7:30pm.

The Homecoming Dance will follows this evening’s football game.

Justin Flores and Dave Woods will be announcing tonight’s game on KKBN 93.5FM, shortly after 7pm. The games are also streamed live on mymotherlode.com

The “Newsmaker of the Day” is heard each weekday morning on AM 1450 KVML at 6:47, 7:47, and 8:47am.
