Area Medical Center A Top Performer
Sonora, CA – Sonora Regional Medical Center has earned national recognition. The Joint Commission, an independent, not-for-profit organization, has named the Medical Center one of the nation’s Top Performers on Key Quality Measures when it comes to care for certain conditions including heart attack, heart failure and pneumonia.
Vice President for Patient Care, RN, Julie Kline says “Our focus on quality has merited this award but more important is the exceptional level of care we provide for our patients,” Kline adds, “We are providing high-quality, safe, compassionate care that is proven to exceed the care provided at most other hospitals.”
The Medical Center is in the top 18 percent of hospitals in the nation to earn this recognition. Sonora Regional Medical Center, Kaiser Foundation Hospital Modesto/Manteca, and Sutter Tracy Community Hospital are the only other area facilities to get this award.
Sonora Regional Medical Center scored a total of 98.9 percent on the Joint Commissions performance requirements.
President and CEO Jeff Eller says “We understand that what matters most to patients is safe, effective care. That’s why we have made a commitment to providing positive patient outcomes through evidence-based care processes,” He says, “I am proud of everyone who has worked to earn this distinction and would like to recognize the attention to detail of our quality initiative leaders, medical staff, and clinical leaders.”
