Lauren McDaniels a Sonora Avalon worker says, “We want to bring our lowest paid caregivers up to working wages and ensure fair wages so all caregivers can take care of our families. It is time to send a clear message to management thatwe want our contract settled and we are united.”

Contract negotiations include future raises, health benefits, job security for senior employee’s, the amount of sick time and vacation pay.

The Care Center took on board residents and staff when Tuolumne General Hospital closed and has gone from 120 residents to 157. The official opening was covered in the news story here.
