Five Arrested In Calaveras County

San Andreas, CA — Calaveras County Sheriff’s Officials did a probation compliance check on 34 year old Eric Gabriel Sosa of San Andreas at a home on the 300 block of Russell Road in San Andreas.

Sosa, along with 29 year old Leah Ruth Robitaille of Burson, 33 year old Curtis John Kesterson of Burson, 28 year old Jason Wesley Andahl of Mokelumne Hill, and 30 year old Amber Hawthorne of San Andreas, were all arrested at the scene.


Sheriff’s Officials say during the search deputies found over one ounce of methamphetamine and items consistent with drug sales. They say the methamphetamine was found on Sosa and in the home. Deputies also say they found a smoking pipe commonly used for methamphetamine on Sosa.


Also, Sheriff’s officials say when Sosa was being booked at the jail they found more methamphetamine and prescription narcotic pills hidden on his body. They say he did not have a prescription for the pills.


Sheriff’s Officials say Sosa was out on bail for earlier charges of evading police, under the influence of a controlled substance, Transport controlled substance, and possession of controlled. They say Sosa was released from state prison in December of 2011 and was immediately assigned to the Calaveras County Post-Release Community Supervision (PRCS) program.


Sheriff’s Officials say he had one month remaining on his sentence when he was paroled. They say he was on an electronic monitoring program for the remaining month, and discharged from PRCS on 02/05/12.


Sosa, Kesterson and Andahl are charged with being under the influence of a controlled substance.


Sosa and Hawthorne are facing transportation of a controlled substance and possession of controlled substance for sale.

Sheriff’s Officials say Robitaille had a misdemeanor $30,000 arrest warrant out of Amador County for giving false information to a peace officer.
