Angels Camp, CA — Police officials are sending out a heads up about a temporary full closure of a downtown thoroughfare this week.
Angels Camp Police Chief Scott Ellis reminds folks that South Main Street will be closed from Sam’s Way to Vallecito Road Wednesday from 10 to about 11:30 a.m. for the annual Youth Parade.
The always colorful annual free and open to the public ritual, now in its 72nd year, is sponsored by the Soroptimist International of Calaveras County service organization. It is also one of the opening day events of the Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee.
For those who need to get around the road closure just use the Highway 4 Bypass. Or as Chief Ellis suggests, just park your vehicle and take a little time out to enjoy the parade.
