$219,900 Lottery Ticket Sold Near Columbia
Nobody won the Mega Millions jackpot on Friday night, however the Sonora Market on Parrots Ferry Road sold one ticket worth $219,900.
According to the California Lottery, a ticket with five numbers but missing the Mega number, was sold at the Sonora Market on 22277 Parrots Ferry. The ticket was sold between Wednesday and Friday night’s drawing.
Only four other tickets were sold in the USA with all five numbers, but not the Mega number. They were sold in Georgia, Massachusetts, Maryland and New Jersey and are each worth $250,000.
California law requires major payoffs of lottery games to be paid on a pari-mutuel basis.
The numbers drawn Friday were 10, 16, 19, 32, 36 and the Mega number was 13. The estimated jackpot was $55 million.
According to the Mega Millions website, the odds of picking all five numbers but not the Mega number is 1 in 3,904,701.
The odds of matching all five numbers and the Mega number is 1 in 175,711,536.
Now, the Mega Millions jackpot for Tuesday night’s drawing is worth $65 million dollars.
Mega Millions is played in 42 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
