Digital Books A Must for State Schools
Sacramento, CA — The state senate unanimously passed a bill that requires textbook publishers to make their content available digitally. According to the Associated Press, the bill calls for publishers to offer sections of content for school district to buy.
The bill allows districts to create online digital textbook databases students can access from anywhere.
Small business with fewer than 100 employees would be exempt.
One opponent of the bill is The Association of American Publishers.
