Maintenance Near Clavey River Bridge

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — The Forest Service will be sealing the road surface around the Clavey River Bridge in Tuolumne starting May 29th.

The announcement came today from Stanislaus Forest Public Affairs Officer, Jerry Snyder, that maintenance to Cottonwood Road (Forest Road 1N04), east of Tuolumne will cause delays to forest travelers. Work will begin 2.5 miles before the Clavey River Bridge bridge and continuing 2.5 miles past the bridge.

The scope of work to be completed includes applying a chip seal to the road surface as part of a deferred maintenance program that is designed to help extend the useful life of the existing pavement.

Area travelers are urged to drive cautiously through the construction zone, be alert to the possibility of loose gravel or oil on the roadway and to slow down when approaching traffic controllers to help keep them safe.
