One Vehicle, Five Arrests
Sonora, CA — Five were arrested yesterday afternoon in connection with several residential burglaries in the Sierra Bible Church parking lot.
Sheriff’s personnel received information that 31 year old Sean O’Connor of Columbia, who was being sought in connection with several burglaries, was going to be in the parking lot of Sierra Bible Church for a supervised visitation with his children.
Detectives in unmarked Sheriff’s cars set up surveillance and observed a vehicle driven by 21 year old Jacob Sabins of Sonora entered the parking lot of the church. Deputies surrounded the car and detained all the occupants while searching the vehicle.
Deputies located several items of stolen property in the vehicle from recent residential burglaries They also found medications with no prescriptions, a hypodermic needle, and tools commonly used for the purpose of forced entry.
According to Tuolumne County Sgt. Jeff Wilson, Sean O’Connor and his wife Lisa have been arrested multiple times in the past month for drug and possession of stolen property crimes, while awaiting trial dates for previous offenses. They were both arrested as was the driver, Sabins, 29-year-old Tyler Borland of Sonora, and a 17 year old male from Oakdale.
Charges include 1st Degree Burglary, Receiving Stolen Property, Possession of Burglary Tools, Possession of controlled substances and Paraphernalia.
