Sonora, CA — Gas prices have been dropping over the past month, according to a new report from AAA.

The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded in California is $4.26, which is down 10 cents from this time last month. For perspective, it is 10 cents higher than California’s average price at this time last year.

“Crude oil prices are declining as weak U.S. jobs data, and reports that Iran might be open to compromise on its nuclear enrichment program, both put downward pressure on oil prices,” says Matt Skryja, Spokesperson for AAA. “These types of factors impact oil prices, and therefore gas prices, because investors buying activity continues to be the dominant influence on prices.”

The least expensive gas statewide is in Ukiah, at $4.07 a gallon.

The myMotherLode.com gas price section shows that in Sonora regular unleaded ranges from $4.11 to $4.35. In San Andreas, the price goes from $4.17 to $4.19.
