Arnold Officer Involved Shooting

Arnold, CA — A man that was allegedly firing gunshots throughout an Arnold neighborhood was shot and killed this morning after being confronted by a Calaveras County Sheriff’s Deputy.

The Sheriff’s Office reports that dispatch received a call at 8:24am that a man was walking with a firearm and acting suspiciously. He was reportedly in an eastern Arnold neighborhood and eventually started firing shots.

Limited information is available at this time, but a deputy approached the man in the area of Dawyn Drive and a shooting occurred. The suspect was killed and pronounced dead at the scene. The deputy was not injured.

The Sheriff’s Office is not releasing the names of those involved or any additional details. The Sheriff’s Office notes that more information will be released later today.
