100 Years For City Of Angels Camp

Angels Camp, CA — Angels Camp Business Association Commemorative Committee is organizing, promoting and celebrating several events in Angels Camp.

The subcommittee of the Angels Camp Business Association, plans to commemorate historic milestones such as the 100th anniversary of the city’s incorporation this year, and in the following years; the 165th anniversary of the founding of Angels Camp, the 165th anniversary of the ’49 Gold Rush, and the 150th anniversary of Mark Twain’s stay in 2015.

The committee is releasing three editions of the “Angels Camp Centennial” a commemorative newspaper to promote each event and share what life was like in the 1900’s.

Tey Cross, committee co-chair and ACBA president, outlined the three events planned for this year:

May 5th there will be an antique car rally, with cars from the 1900s on and a parade around the city’s historic district.

On July 4th, the committee will throw an old-fashioned Fourth of July celebration.

September 29th, the actual Centennial Celebration for Angels Camp will be held in downtown Angels Camp. The day will be filled with food, games and music.
