Water Woes For Trailer Park

Sponsored by:

Columbia, CA — A local trailer park could have its taps and sewer shut off due to a hefty past due bill. The owner of the Columbia Mobile Home Park, Jim Clayton, was slapped with a two week turn off notice. The posting was put up today at the park on 22217 Parrotts Ferry Road by Tuolumne Utilities District.

Robin Sumerlin who works and lives at the trailer park says, “I’m concerned, but when I talked to Mr. Clayton he assured me and told me to tell the residents that he would take care of the bill and we don’t have anything to worry about, so I’m hoping he will.”

We contacted the owner. Jim Clayton told us, “It will all be taken care of before the due date” and then abruptly hung up.

The posted notice states that the water and sewer service are scheduled to be turned off for non-payment on June 5th. The Past Due Amount is $17,884.35.

There are 63 spaces in the park, some are for RVs, and others are for houses and apartments. According to Sumerlin approximately 13 spaces are vacant at this time.
