Stormy Weather Impacting HWY 140 In Mariposa County

Sponsored by:

Mariposa County, CA — Due to the passing storm system, Caltrans has opted to close a section of Highway 140 near the Ferguson Fire burn scar.

Caltrans says it is taking this pre-emptive move for the public’s safety due to possible mudslides and debris such as rocks falling onto the roadway. Crews will close the roadway at 6 p.m. for a stretch of about 17 miles from Bear Creek near Midpines to Foresta Road in El Portal, which is nearly 4 miles west of the Yosemite National Park entrance. Caltrans notes that after the storm has passed, crews will clear any debris and inspect the road before reopening it to traffic.
