Sonora Chamber Of Commerce Hosts Town Hall
The Sonora Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Town Hall Meeting this morning in the Sonora City Council Chambers.
One of the featured speakers, Sonora City Administrator Tim Miller, was Thursday’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”.
The meeting takes place from 8:30 AM through 10 AM and local business owners and city residents are invited to attend.
Some of the featured speakers include TUD Director Pete Kampa, City Events Coordinator Sheila Wilkenson and City Councilman Bill Canning who will provide an update on ‘Vision Sonora’.
One of the recent items that Miller has heard plenty of questions about, has been the CVIN road trenching project.
Central Valley Independent Next (CVIN) crews have been working on rock saw trenching on Green Street from Dodge Street to Bradford Street. The work is part of the CVIN Broadband infrastructure installation.
Miller assures drivers and residents that the work is not over with yet.
“This is not the finished project,” Miller said, “The crews will come back and repave the surface. Ithe full project should be completed within the next two months.”
The CVIN project is funded by the federal stimulus package in 2009. It is designed to increase the broadband infrastructure of the region.
The “Newsmaker of the Day” is heard every weekday morning on AM 1450 KVML at 6:47, 7:47 and 8:47am.
