Yosemite Correspondence On Agenda

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne County Supervisors will decide whether to weigh in about big changes proposed to Yosemite National Park.

The Board will vote on Tuesday whether to give input on the Merced River Plan, which has been in development for several years. The National Park Service’s preferred option (Alternative Five) calls for the elimination of the Yosemite Lodge swimming pool, Curry Village ice skating rink, raft rentals, bike rentals and daily horseback rides. Anyone can comment on the plan up until April 18th. Tuolumne County has an interest in the plan as the local economy benefits from the tourist traffic heading to and from Yosemite.

The Supervisors will also hear the results of a mobile home rent control study, and approve the vendor application for the 2013 Father’s Day Fly-in. Tuesday’s meeting will begin at 9am in the Supervisors meeting room. It will be streamed live in the multimedia section of myMotherLode.com.
