Post Office Arrest

Columbia, CA –Loitering puts a 60 year old Columbia man behind bars. Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Officials say a Deputy noticed James Harold Njirich hanging around the Columbia Post Office on the 22,000 block of Parrotts Ferry Rd around 12:30am Tuesday morning. As the deputy observed him he noticed he was acting strangely. The deputy stopped to talk to Njirich and determined he was under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

Sgt Jeff Wilson says, “He was arrested for being under the influence of alcohol and drugs in public. He also had a warrant out for his arrest. Upon being booked at the jail, guards discovered he had some methamphetamine stuffed in his boot.”

Njirich was arrested and charged with felony Bringing Alcohol/Drugs into Prison/Jail, felony Possession of a Controlled Substance and misdemeanor Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance.
