Update: Power Outages In The Mother Lode

Update at 3:15 p.m.: The latest storm blowing through the area has caused new power outages in impacting nearly 2,800 PG&E customer this afternoon.

PG&E is reporting a new power outage impacting nearly 2,000 customers in the high country of Tuolumne County. The outage is along Highway 108 in the areas of Cold Springs, Pinecrest, Strawberry and Bumblebee. The total number of customers whose lights have gone out is 1701, according to the utility. A crews is heading to the incident area.

Additionally, there are smaller power outages affecting 115 customers in the vicinity of Soulsbyville, Jamestown and Chinese Camp. The company has not posted any estimated repair times for these outages or causes. Further details on outages impacting hundreds of customers in Calaveras and Mariposa counties can be viewed below.

Update at 1:40 p.m.: New power outages are being reported in the Copperopolis area of Calaveras County impacting a combined 676 PG&E customers. Both of the outages are in neighborhoods off of O’Byrnes Ferry Road. One is along Bayview Drive in the Copper Cove Subdivision affecting 392 customers and the other is has left 284 customers in the dark along Choctaw Road in Copper Cove Village. The utility has crews assigned to these outages, but no cause has been determined and no restoration time has been posted.

Update at 11:55 p.m.: PG&E crews are getting a handle on an outage in the Arnold area that had been impacting over 1,000 customers. That number has dropped to 232 customers off of Highway 4.  The company did not post a restoration time for the remaining customers. Further details on the outages are below.

Update at 11:15 a.m.: A new power outage in the Hathaway Pines area of Calaveras County, south of Avery. PG&E is reporting 67 customers are without electricity. The CHP reports that a tree came crashing down on the 5000 block of Hillcrest Drive, off of Highway 4, and brought live power lines with it. That section of the roadway is closed. The utility has not posted any restoration time. Further details on outages impacting over 1,000 customers in the Mother Lode are below.

Update at 10:30 a.m.: PG&E reports that the power has been restored for all but nine customers in the Vallecito outage and all of the 85 customers in Twain Harte. Further details regarding other outages including one in Arnold impacting nearly 1,000 customers are below,

Update at 10 a.m.: The Mother Lode continues to be plagued by power outages with over 1,100 PG&E customers affected. In Calaveras County, there is a new outage in Vallecito that has left 31 customers stretching from Vallicetto Bluffs Road to the Parrotts Ferry Road intersection on Highway 4 in the dark. A second power outage in Arnold, this time on the south side of Highway 4 along Rawhide Drive where 20 customers lights have gone out. Already 946 customers on the north side of the highway, behind and around the Meadowmont Shopping Center, are without electricity, but the center still has power. Also, farther up on the highway an outage remains in the Cottage Springs area affecting 34 customers. Additionally, 46 customers in the Lake Alpine area of Alpine County have no power. A restoration time of 1 p.m. has been given in that outage.

In Tuolumne County, there is a new outage for 12 customers in the Moccasin area along Highway 120/New Priest Grade Road. PG&E crews are making progress on power outages in the Twain Harte area as only one out of three that had impacted nearly 500 customers remains. It is on the south side of Highway 108  along Confidence Road and impacting 85 customers.

Finally, in Mariposa County, there are two new outages in the Coulterville and Dogtown areas affecting 80 customers total. The company has given  no repair times or causes for most of these outages. Further details on all of this mornings outages can be viewed below.

Update at 9:30 a.m.:  A second power outage has been reported in Arnold, this time on the south side of Highway 4 along Rawhide Drive where 20 customers lights have gone out. There are already 946 customers on the north side of the highway behind and around the Meadowmont Shopping Center that are without lights, but the center still has power.

Update at 8:30 a.m.: PG&E is reporting another power outage in Calaveras County this morning. It is impacting 946 customers in Arnold around the Meadowmont Shopping Center area on Highway 4. Additional details on power outages in the Mother Lode can be viewed below.

Update at 8 a.m.: PG&E crews are making progress on power outages in the Mother Lode. The original outage that impacted 280 customers has been restored. Two remain in that area, one along Twain Harte, Highland and Fir drives is affecting 118 customers and another is on the south side of Highway 108 along Confidence Road where 85 customers are without lights. That brings the total still without electricity to 203.

In Calaveras County, along Highway 4 an outage that was stretching from Camp Connell to Big Meadows and impacting 57 customers has dropped to 34, mainly in the Cottage Springs area.

Additionally, 46 customers in the Lake Alpine area have no electricity. A restoration time of 1 p.m. has been given to that outage, but for the other outages no repair times or causes have been posted.

Update at 7:45 a.m.: A third outage has just turned out the lights for an additional 85 PG&E customers in the Twain Harte area of Tuolumne County. This one is on the south side of Highway 108 along Confidence Road. Two additional outages, one  running along Twain Harte, Highland and Fir drives is affecting 118 customers while another along Bret Harte and Golf Club drives is impacting 280. That brings the total to 483. Further details on Mother Lode outages are below.

Update 7:15 a.m.: A second outage has occurred in the Twain Harte area. This one impacts 118 customers along Twain Harte, Highland and Fir drives.  PG&E says a crew is assessing the outage. No restoration time has been posted. A remaining outage also in that area is affecting 280, which brings the total to 383. For details on other outages in the Mother Lode see below.

Update at 6:50 a.m.: PG&E is reporting a new outage this morning in the Twain Harte area of Tuolumne County. 280 customers are impacted along Bret Harte Drive and Golf Club Drive. Also, 10 customers in the Mono Vista area, off of Highway 108, are waking up to no lights.  Crews are assessing both outages. It is unclear whether the outage was weather related as the company did not post a cause.

In Calaveras County, there remains an outage along Highway 4. It stretches from Camp Connell to Big Meadows, mainly in the Cottage Springs area, and it is affecting 57 customers. No repair time has been posted by PG&E.

Additionally, 46 customers in the Lake Alpine area of Alpine County have no electricity. A restoration time of 1 p.m. has been given by the company for that outage.

Update at 6:15 a.m.: PG&E crews are making progress on a handful of outages in the Mother Lode. The electricity has been restored to 58 customers in Tuolumne County along Phoenix Lake Road in the Phoenix Lake Estates. Their lights went out around 2:30 a.m. It is unclear whether the outage was weather related as the company did not post a cause.

Crews continue to work on two other outages, details are below.

Original post at 5:30 a.m.: Sonora, CA –Some PG&E customers in the Mother Lode are waking up to no power this morning.

The utility is reporting one outage in Tuolumne County along Phoenix Lake Road in the Phoenix Lake Estates where 58 customers are impacted. Also, in Calaveras County along Highway 4 stretching from Camp Connell to Big Meadows, mainly in the Cottage Springs area there are 57 customers without lights.

Additionally, 46 customers in the Lake Alpine area of Alpine County have no electricity. A restoration time of 1 p.m. has been given in that outage.

There is no repair time for the other two outages, but the company notes that crews are assessing the situation. No direct cause has been given for any of these outages.
