Update: Power Outages Keeping PG&E Crews Busy

Update at 7:15 p.m.: PG&E is reporting two new power outages in the Mother Lode. One is in Twain Harte along Golf Club and Sonora roads where 53 customers are in the dark. Another 66 customer farther up on Golf Club Road and Fuller Road have been without electricity since Wednesday night at around 7:30 p.m.

In Calaveras County, along Pool Station Road and Riata Way, another 77 customers have no lights. The utility has not posted any restoration time for these outages. For details of other power outages in the Mother Lode see below.

Update at 3:15 p.m.: PG&E crews continue to make progress on power outages in the Mother Lode due to equipment damage stemming from the high winds and storm system overnight and this morning.

The latest and largest outage stretched from Sonora along Algerine and Wards Ferry roads to Groveland and past Buck Meadows to Big Oak Flat Road. It impacted 1,391 customers, but that number has been dropped to 44 customers, just in the Groveland area. There also remains outages for 229 customers in Sugar Pine, however, the lights are back on for over half of the original 1,200 customers without electricity since this morning in the Mi Wuk and Long Barn area as well. Those still without power total 384. 88 customers in the Twain harte area remain without lights as well.

In Calaveras County, nearly 400 customers remain without lights in Arnold, Dorrington and Camp Connell areas. The most recent outage was in the Mountain Ranch and Rail Road Flat areas impacting 174 customers. Crews have restored power to the Rail Road Flat area, but 141 customers along Jesus Maria Road still have no electricity in the Mountain Ranch area.   The utility reports no estimated restoration times on most of these outages.

Original post at 2 p.m.: Sonora, CA – While PG&E crews have been making some progress on morning power outages due to equipment damage stemming from the high winds and storm system overnight, some new one have been sparked.

The newest and largest outage stretches from Sonora along Algerine and Wards Ferry roads to Groveland and past Buck Meadows to Big Oak Flat Road, which is impacting 1,391 customers. There are also new outages for 229 customers in Sugar Pine, where there are already over 1,266 in the Long Barn, Mi Wuk and Twain Harte areas as well. The electricity remains out for 102 customers in Columbia.

In Calaveras County, crews have managed to turn the lights back on for several hundred residents in the Murphys and Mokelumne Hill areas. Still without lights are over 300 customers in Camp Connell, Dorrington and Arnold areas. The latest outage is impacting 174 customers in Mountain Ranch and Rail Road Flat area.

The utility relays that crews are working on all these outages, but no estimated time of repair has been posted for many of these outages.
