McClintock Argues For Funding Border Wall

Sponsored by:

Washington, DC — Mother Lode Congressman Tom McClintock took to the US House floor to defend President Donald Trump’s call for funding of a wall along the Mexican border.

McClintock was Friday’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”.

The Republican, argues that a physical separation (wall) between border patrol agents, and those trying to come into the country, would result in “less violence and bloodshed. He noted, “It not only protects the officers who place their lives on the line in defense of our law, it also protects the lawbreakers themselves from the violent conflict that their behavior otherwise would make inevitable.”

McClintock added, “Orderly immigration, regulated by law and protected by secure borders, is a prerequisite to a civilized and prosperous nation. If our immigration laws are not enforced, then our borders become meaningless, and America becomes a vast open territory between Canada and Mexico, and susceptible to every social, political and economic disorder brought to it.”

House Republican leaders are considering whether to bring legislation before Congress that would allocate $5-billion for border wall construction, but it is unclear if there are enough votes in favor.

McClintock was re-elected to a two-year term this past November.

The “Newsmaker of the Day” is heard every weekday morning at 6:45, 7:45 and 8:45 on AM 1450 and FM 102.7 KVML.
