Update: Air, Ground Units Heading To Vegetation Fire In Campo Seco

Update at 12:28pm: CAL Fire officials say the forward rate of progress has been stopped on a vegetation fire that broke out shortly after noon in the community of Campo Seco.

CAL Fire spokesperson Emily Kilgore reports that the Watertown Fire, so dubbed because it is in the area of Watertown Road at Campo Seco Road, is about a half-acre in size and no structures are threatened. She adds that investigators are still working to determine the cause.

Original Post at 12:10pm: San Andreas, CA — Air and ground resources are heading to Calaveras County, checking out a report of a vegetation fire in Campo Seco, described as in the vicinity of Watertown Road at Campo Seco Road.

According to CAL Fire spokesperson Emily Kilgore, all units except for an engine on scene are still responding to the Watertown Fire, as it is being called. She says that it is currently about 200 feet by 100 feet and there is no word on whether any structures are under threat. The report came in at 12:05 p.m. We will bring you more information when it comes into the news center.
