PG&E Fully Restores Power Following Planned Shutdown
Power is now fully restored in Calaveras County, and other areas of Northern California, according to PG&E.
Many customers had been without power for a couple of days under a new plan implemented by the utility to shut off electricity during periods of high winds and fire risk. As of late yesterday afternoon there were still nearly 1,500 customers in Calaveras County without electricity, and PG&E reported that many of the final customers were somewhat delayed due to damage that was located that needed to be repaired. At its peak there were over 60,000 customers across the state without power. All of the customers were restored by around eight o’clock last night. Other counties that had customers impacted include Amador, Lake, Napa, Sonoma, El Dorado and Placer.
