Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA – Firefighters are making progress in the County Fire burning in Napa and Yolo counties, as some of the evacuations were lifted last night.

The flames have forced roughly 2,500 residents from their homes and are threatening nearly 1,400 buildings. The challenge is wind along with dry vegetation that is fueling the flames, according to CAL Fire. Crews are hoping to take advantage the nearly 10 to 15 degrees in lower temperatures from this past weekend’s triple digits. The flames have forced roughly 2,500 residents from their homes and are threatening nearly 1,400 buildings. The fire has scorched nearly 83,000 acres or 129 square miles while firefighters have gained 25-percent contained.

No structures have been damaged or destroyed by the blaze.
