Update: Second Vegetation Fire In Calaveras County Contained

Update at 4:10 p.m.: Columbia aircraft are back on base after firefighter have contained a vegetation fire in the Arnold area of Calaveras County.

The flames are in the vacinity of 2800 Love Creek Road near Douds Landing Road between the Fly-In Acres Subdivision and Douds Landing. CAL Fire spokesperson Lindy Shoff reports. “The approximate fire size is one acre and crews are mopping up and checking for hotspots at this time.”

There were no structures are threatened.  Additional information on the fire is below.

Update at 3:30 p.m.: Firefighter and Columbia aircraft are making progress on a vegetation fire reported in the Arnold area of Calaveras County. The flames are in the vicinity of 2800 Love Creek Road near Douds Landing Road between the Fly-In Acres Subdivision and Douds Landing. CAL Fire spokesperson Lindy Shoff relays, “Forward progress of the fire has been stopped as of 3:18 p.m. It’s currently being estimated as approximately an acre but we don’t have an official size at this time. Two air-tankers have also been released from the scene and crews will continue to work towards full containment.

Original post at 3:10 p.m.: Arnold, CA — Firefighter and Columbia aircraft are battling a vegetation fire reported in the Arnold area of Calaveras County.

The flames are in the vacinity of 2800 Love Creek Road near Douds Landing Road, which is between the Fly-In Acres Subdivision and Douds Landing. CAL Fire reports the fire is one acre in size and burning in timber at a moderate rate of spread. There is no word on whether any structures are threatened.
