Second Weekend of October Events
There are many autumn events planned for the weekend of October 12th, and 13th. First, Friday is the first night of the Murphys Diggins Fall Craft Fair. The event will be from 10am to 5pm and Saturday from 10am to 3pm at the Clubhouse as detailed here.
This Saturday and Sunday is the volunteer staffed Life Hope Clinic at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Sonora. The annual event provides free health care to Tuolumne County residents and is a different event from the Health Fair offered by County of Tuolumne later in October at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds. The County event will focus on prevention and features screenings, the ability to purchase a voucher for a blood draw, and more. The Life Hope Clinic provides onsite treatment for adults, those over 18, that includes dental, medical, vision, haircutting, massage, chiropractic, foot care and physical therapy free to Tuolumne County residents. Only basic contact information is collected with no proof of income required.
It is 2nd Saturday art night, in addition to participating shops being open later, join Tuolumne County Arts for a free arts and craft workshop. This month’s activity is Moving Bat Crafts where you can learn to make your own movable bats out of craft materials. The weather should be perfect for the Concert in Coffill Park with King Hippo. Music starts at 8pm, no-host beverage service starts at 7pm, and bring chairs if you don’t plan to stand and dance the whole evening.
Saturday and Sunday at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds is the Sierra-Tuolumne Kennel Club Annual Dog Show.
In Copperopolis the 2nd Annual Bridlewood Equestrian Center Pumpkin Patch will be open from Noon to 7pm. The farm will have pumpkins, tractor rides, pony rides, games and more.
At Covers Apple Ranch the pumpkins are out, and the hay maze is up.
Over in Rail Road Flat at the Community Hall join the Warm Up With Our Soups Central Calaveras Fire Fundraiser. The event will be on Saturday from 12:30 to 3pm.
At the Amador Senior Center they are hosting a Mother Lode Rose Show & Plant Sale on Saturday from 10am to 4pm.
The 4th Annual Dinner to Go is pre-sale only from the Don Pedro High FFA Ag Boosters. The dinner is Saturday from 4 to 6 PM at the Don Pedro High School Gym.
Movies in the Park the Groveland Community Services District will host the movie Haunted Mansion at Mary Laveroni Park in Groveland, starting at sunset.
The Free Movie Night at Feeney Park in Murphys is Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas.
In support of the 33nd Annual Thanks Giving Food and Supply Run to the Big Mountain/Black Mesa region of the Dine’ (Navajo) Nation, Clan Dyken will start the 2024 Revive The Beauty Way Tour at The Refuge in Jamestown this Saturday evening. Details are here.
Sonora Sunrise Rotary invites you to celebrate 10 years of Barrels, Brews & Bites Saturday from 2 to 5 PM under the oak trees at Railtown 1897 in Jamestown. Savor fantastic wine, craft beer, and tasty gourmet bites of food. There will also be live music and a celebrity grape stomp. Tickets are available here.
Sierra Repertory Theatre is performing Into the Woods at the East Sonora location. The musical follows a Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King’s Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. Although everyone’s wish is granted, the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results. Performances start today and the play will run through November 10th.
The Standard Farmers Market is open 4 pm to dusk on Fridays through October 18th. The last Sonora Farmers Market is this Saturday morning. The Farmers Market at Murphys Community Park is open this Sunday as detailed here, until October 27.
On Sunday at 3pm, the 48th annual Sonora Bach Festival Local’s Concert with special guests Sheila Low, Bethany Winters, the Brook Moes Quartet and more, will take place at Chapel in the Pines on Cherokee Drive in Twain Harte.
