First Weekend Of December Events

The first weekend of December is filled with theatre performances and more.

Friday Dec. 1st at 6PM is a special one night only dinner theater event in the Manzanita Building at the Motherlode Fairgrounds. Sonora High School’s arts, drama, music and culinary arts departments will be participating. Send in your request for reservations, all the details, ticket prices and showtimes are here. 

The Twain Harte Winter Wonderland Parade is Friday at 5:30PM, details are here.

Sierra Repertory Theatre will perform Another Night Before Christmas at the East Sonora Theatre and at the Fallon House in Columbia they continue with Irving Berlin’s White Christmas. Murphys Creek Theater is performing Looking Over the President’s Shoulder and the Mountain Melody Women’s Chorus will also put on Winter Concerts there. The MYACT Theatre is performing Home for the Holidays and at the Sonora Opera Hall Friday through Sunday listen to the Sounds of the Season Community Chorus Concert.

Clarke Broadcasting will host the Cash Drive for Interfaith beginning Friday morning at 6AM until Noon. On Saturday morning the cash drive concludes with donating coats at the Santa Fly-In at Standard Park. 

Other Christmas events this weekend include: St. Patrick’s Christmas Fair in Sonora, Mountian Christian Fellowship’s Holiday Boutique in Murphys, Mill Villa Estates Cristmas Craft Show in Jamestown, Sierra Waldorf School’s Elves’ Faire, Grandma’s House Holiday Bazaar & Bake Sale in Columbia, the Jamestown holiday vendor shop at Hurst Ranch,  and Willow Springs Christmas Bazaar in Soulsbyville.

As detailed in the KVML “Newsmakers of the Day” interview today with CHP Officer Faustino Pulido and Cori Allen, Deputy Director with Tuolumne County Child Welfare Services, here the CHiPs for Kids Toy Drive is this Friday, Saturday and Sunday at three different locations. Also on all three days, at the Sherriff’s community building in the Junction Shopping Center, there will be a Santa’s workshop.

Columbia State Historic Park Museum is hosting its Lamplight Tours on Friday and Saturday.
