Andrea Benson reports that law enforcement continues to keep watch and take all tips regarding escaped prison inmate Daniel Salazar. The public is still encouraged to share his picture and keep an eye out for anyone matching his description. If you see Salazar you should call 911 or the sheriff’s office at 209-533-5815.
Update at 8:50pm (11/4/17): The Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office reports that Daniel Salazar remains at-large this evening. A California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation team is continuing its search for the escaped inmate from the North Kern State Prison.
Update at 1pm (11/4/17): The Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office reports that the stolen truck that 31-year-old escaped North Kern State Prison inmate Daniel Salazar was believed to have been driving was located on Jamestown Road. No one was inside the truck and it was parked along the side of the road. Deputies are currently searching that area. If you see Salazar you should call 911 or 209-533-5815.
Original story posted at 9:55am (11/4/17: Sonora, CA — A prisoner escaped from the North Kern State Prison in Delano last night, and officials believe he could be driving to Tuolumne County.
It is not immediately clear why state prison officials think 31-year-old Daniel Salazar is on his way to the county. He reportedly has ties to the region. He was serving a sentence for crimes related to second degree robbery and using a fake ID to obtain personal information.
Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Sgt. Andrea Benson says, “He may be headed to Tuolumne County in a stolen white 2016 Dodge Ram 1500 with a license plate number 1493191. He is considered to be armed and dangerous. Please notify authorities immediately if you see him.”
