Three Injured In Two Weekend Calaveras Crashes
San Andreas, CA – A local man who sustained major injuries in an early morning solo wreck was arrested for suspicion of DUI CHP officials say.
The CHP San Andreas Unit reports that just after 8 on Sunday morning, 27-year-old Anthony Fuller of Mountain Ranch was headed north on Railroad Flat Road doing about 55 miles per hour when his 2006 Honda first left the road and hit the shoulder. Attempting to re-steer back he allegedly hit the west shoulder and then collided with a tree and a wooden fence, sustaining serious but reportedly non-life threatening injuries.
Fuller was transported to Mark Twain Medical Center for treatment and CHP officials add that he was also evaluated for DUI and subsequently arrested.
Two Mother Lode residents were treated for what CHP officials describe as minor injuries at Adventist Health Sonora Friday night following a head-on collision on Highway 4 at Country Club Drive.
According to the CHP a 16-year-old Discovery Bay resident was eastbound in a 1998 Saturn and for unknown reasons braked and swerved head-on into a 2007 Toyota that was stopped in the westbound left turn lane. The driver of that vehicle, 61-year-old Elsie Jorstad of Arnold and her two-year-old female passenger, a Twain Harte resident, were subsequently transported to Adventist Health Sonora. Neither drugs nor alcohol were considered factors in the incident.
