MTMC Recognized For Being A Top Rural Hospital
San Andreas, CA — A national organization has named Mark Twain Medical Center as one of the 21 top rural hospitals of 2016.
Mark Twain Medical Center is the only hospital in California on the list compiled by the Leapfrog Group. The report compares hospitals’ performance on national standards of patient safety, quality, efficiency and management structures that prevent errors.
Nancy Hiteshaw, Mark Twain Medical Center’s Director of Quality, Risk, Compliance and Privacy, states, “I’m really proud of what’s happening here at MTMC. If I ever have to be a patient – this is where I want to be.”
The Leapfrog Group was founded in 2000 and is a national non-profit organization that pushes for quality and safety in American health care. It assigns letter grades to hospitals based on their record of patient safety and strives to help consumers protect themselves.
