Sullivan Creek Levels To Rise Due To Planned Releases

Sponsored by:

Tuolumne, CA — Surging waters in the Sullivan Creek area of Twain Harte due to planned water releases have a utility alerting residents to avoid the area for the next few days.

Tuolumne Utilities District (TUD) officials say it was determined during a recent inspection at its Lakewood Lake facility that a spillway has been compromised by recent storms. Out of what they describe as an abundance of caution, TUD will be releasing water from the 12 acre foot Lakewood Lake to reduce levels there.

Residents of the Lakewood Park subdivision who use the recreational lake and those along the creek will notice changing levels while this is going on. Again, due to the influx of water at Sullivan Creek, TUD stresses folks to please be forewarned of the influxes of water into the creek and that they will result in surges of elevated water levels.
