The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Sierra Nevada, which is in effect until 10 PM tonight.
Snow showers will continue in the mountains through tonight, possibly heavy at times with gusty winds.
The snow levels will continue to range from 5,500 to 6,000 feet.
Total snow accumulations of four to eight inches are likely above the 6,000 foot elevation.
Winds of fifteen to thirty mph are likely with gusts up to forty-five mph.
Some of the main impacts include slippery, snow covered roads with limited visibility due to snow and blowing snow. Continued chain controls are likely.
Fewer showers are expected Sunday. Another Pacific Storm will bring more snow and wind to the mountains Sunday night and Monday.
A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow and blowing snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.
