Homecoming Parade In Downtown Sonora
View VideoThe streets of downtown Sonora are back open again after becoming crowded with Sonora High School fans at 2:00 pm this afternoon for the Homecoming Parade. Students in the Golden Regiment Band marched down Washington Street. The football team, cheerleaders, and homecoming court rode on various vehicles including the Tuolumne Sheriff’s Dept. MedCat. The theme of the four class floats is Disney movies with Seniors choosing the movie Monster’s Inc. Juniors the movie Cars, Sophomores are Finding Nemo, and Freshman have the Incredibles on their float. The local shops on Washington Street also have decorations.
Following the parade the Golden Regiment Band performed several songs in Courthouse Park.
The Wildcats junior varsity will play Bret Hart and then the varsity team will play Antelope High School from North Highlands tonight at 7 pm. The team stepped in for Bret Hart who forfeited the game due to player issues.
In other action, Summerville will play at home against Argonaut. Calaveras was scheduled to play Amador, but the Buffaloes have forfeited the remainder of their season due to a student texting scandal.
