Update: Structure Fire In Calaveras County Contained

Update at 7:15 a.m.: Cal Fire reports the flames have been contained in a structure fire in Valley Springs. The trailer was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrive on the scene around 6:30 a.m. in the 420 block of Highway 12 near Lime Creek Road in the Castle Rock Mobile Home Park. Additionally, two vehicles also caught on fire but the flames did not spread to nearby vegetation. Residents in neighboring trailers were asked to leave their homes as a precautionary measure, according to Cal Fire dispatch. Currently there are five engines on scene and crews will be mopping up for several hours. Investigators will also on scene trying to determine what sparked the blaze. The trailer and two vehicles were destroyed.

Original post at 6:45 a.m.: Valley Springs, CA — Firefighters are heading to a structure fire in Calaveras County.

Cal Fire reports the flames broke out in a trailer in the Castle Rock Mobile Home Park in Valley Springs on the 240 block of Highway 12 near Lime Creek Road. There is no word on whether the flames are threatening any other structures or have spread to nearby vegetation. We will bring you more details as soon as they come into the newsroom.
