Sonora High Board To Hear Report About Fiscal Health
Sonora, CA — The findings from a “Fiscal Crisis and Management Assistance Team” (FCMAT) report will be discussed by the Sonora Union High School Board of Trustees on Tuesday.
This past July the Tuolumne County Superintendent of Schools approved a contract with FCMAT to provide a review of the 2016-17 adopted budget, as well as projections for the two subsequent fiscal years. The report raises some concerns related to ongoing deficit spending by the district. Among the 25 recommendations, it calls for developing a detailed fiscal recovery plan to identify specific ongoing expenditure reductions, and cost savings, to ensure fiscal solvency in the current and two subsequent fiscal years. The Board will hear a detailed presentation on the 50-page completed report. You can read it yourself by clicking here.
In other business, Superintendent Pat Chabot is scheduled to provide an update on school construction projects and talk about a college readiness block grant plan.
Tuesday’s meeting starts at 6pm in the Sonora High School Auditorium.
