Update: Vehicle Flips Over On Highway 108/120
Update at 5 p.m.: The CHP has released further details on a solo-vehicle crash on Highway 108/120 west of Green Springs Road just after 8 a.m. Thursday. Speed was reportedly a factor in the wreck. The CHP says Nicole Brennecke, 19, from Sonora was heading eastbound on the highway in a 2008 Ford Focus and lost control of her car on a curve due to her speed. The vehicle went off the roadway hit a small embankment and went airborne. It flew over a fence and the front end smashed into the ground. The force of the impact caused the car to flip over, end over end, several times. Passersby help Brennecke to get out of the vehicle. She was flow to Memorial Medical Center suffering head and neck injuries.
Original post at 8:40 a.m.: Tuolumne County, CA — An ambulance is responding to a crash on Highway 108/120 west of Green Springs Road.
The crash is east of the area often referred to as the Rock Shop, according to the CHP. A vehicle flipped over multiple times and ended up in a field. The crash is not blocking Highway 108, but motorists should use caution in the area as several emergency officials are arriving on scene. The crash occurred at around 8:10am. At least one person has reportedly suffered “major injuries.”
